The family of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cppsmissionaries.org\/pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" title=\"\">Missionaries of the Most Precious Blood <\/a>is praying and working towards one of the celebrations that will mark the beginning of the next Holy Year, the beatification of Father John Merlini, who was the third general moderator of the religious institute founded by Saint Gaspar del Bufalo in the mid-19th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ceremony at St. John Lateran<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremony, scheduled for January 12, 2025, at the Basilica of St. John Lateran \u2013 headquarters of the Diocese of Rome \u2013 will have Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, at the altar as president of the assembly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cThis event of grace, at the beginning of the Jubilee Year 2025, will see us united in holy pilgrimage from all parts of the world,\u201d <\/p><cite>says a note from the religious congregation, signed by Father Emanuele Lupi, current moderator of the missionaries, and Sister Nicla Spezzati, a worshipper of the Blood of Christ and postulator of the cause.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apostle among the rejected<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The note recalls some aspects of the life of Father John Merlini, a native of Spoleto \u2013 in the Italian region of Umbria \u2013 where he was born on August 28, 1795. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA man of profound discernment and wisdom, he was an apostle \u2013 it reads \u2013 of \u201centire populations in the Papal States and the Kingdom of Naples\u201d, an evangelizer of the poor and the rejected, whose \u201cfraternal charity\u201d nourished a life with \u201cthe flavor of the Gospel\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The beatification event, conclude the general moderator and the postulator, \u201cwill see us united in holy pilgrimage from all parts of the world.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a Family of <a href=\"https:\/\/jornalproenca.pt\/c\/igreja\/preciosissimo-sangue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" title=\"\">Most Precious Blood of Christ<\/a>, with all the people of God, we invoke the Holy Spirit to walk the\u00a0<em>via sanguinis<\/em>, &#039;the new and living way that Christ inaugurated for us, to maintain, without wavering, the profession of our hope&#039;\u201d.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Uma vida com o sabor do Evangelho *Artigo Vatican News Ser\u00e1 pleno inverno europeu, mas, em todo caso, um dia ensolarado.
