This celebration took place within the novena in preparation for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. More than one hundred elderly and sick people from various retirement homes, as well as private individuals, participated. The celebration included a moment of listening to the Word of God and prayer, followed by the Sacrament of Holy Unction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"901\" data-id=\"50681\" src=\"https:\/\/cpps.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/q111-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50681\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cpps.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/q111-1.jpg 900w, https:\/\/cpps.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/q111-1-175x175.jpg 175w, https:\/\/cpps.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/q111-1-768x769.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cpps.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/q111-1-12x12.jpg 12w, https:\/\/cpps.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/q111-1-580x580.jpg 580w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of the missions of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood: to dedicate time to accompanying people weakened by illness, age, or other circumstances. Like Good Samaritans, they approach those who have fallen by the wayside of society and care for them with love. They are attentive to the voices of these people who are so often marginalized, hidden, and abandoned in their solitude. Serving these people in the parish implies, for example, a developed and active Pastoral Care for the Sick. Fr. Ant\u00f3nio Panea serves the sick as the head of this parish pastoral care and as a Hospital Chaplain at the University Hospital of Badajoz (Spain).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>\u201cCaring for the sick is a tangible sign of Christ\u2019s compassionate love. You are like the Good Samaritan, who stops by the injured and cares for them to relieve and heal them.\u201d<br><br>\u201cTo you, dear brothers and sisters marked by illness, I would simply like to remind you that you are in the heart of God, our Father. He carries you in the palm of his hands, accompanies you with love, and offers you his tenderness through the hands and smiles of those who care for your lives. Today, the Lord repeats to each of you: I love you, I like you, you are my child!
