From the very first moment of the Annunciation, the Virgin Mary realized that her mission, in addition to being the Mother of the Redeemer, had to be one of help, support, and mercy for those who needed it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 We find her making a long journey to "assist" her cousin Isabel, who was about to give birth to her son. Upon learning that she needed support, she takes "her four things" and, disregarding the inconveniences of the journey, travels to Ain Karim and stays with her for about three months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 She was invited to a wedding in Cana, and Mary wasn't one of those people who sought out the most important places at the banquet to show how important she was to the bride and groom; her place was in the kitchen, serving and ensuring that not a single detail was overlooked. She noticed that, at the end of the banquet, the wine was running out, and so that the newlyweds wouldn't experience hardship and distress, she asked her Son to do something for them. She did it silently and without drawing attention to herself, so that no one would thank her; her intention was simply to "help" and "serve" selflessly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 She was also a helper on the path of bitterness. Her Son walks with the cross on his back, she follows him without appearing, but giving encouragement; at a certain point on the path her Son falls and she approaches to show him all her support; possibly they said nothing, but their presence and gaze were supportive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In moments when everything seems to falter, the Virgin Mary is our help and support, welcoming us with mercy. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. She helps us with hope, and shows us how she trusted in God in the face of the trials and difficulties she had to face for accepting God's will. In those moments of doubt, when there seems to be no way out, when we lose hope because we see no solutions, let us trust in Her, who is our Mother and helper.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2- Mary is our helper when our faith wavers and nothing seems to make sense. She invites us not to give up and to continue to trust in God's goodness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 3- The Virgin Mary is also our helper when we are sad and discouraged, and she invites us to joy, because "her spirit rejoices in God her Savior," a joy that comes from knowing that God is with us and that we are not alone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 4- It is helpful to the sick and their families, teaching them how to face their suffering with fortitude and not to lose heart, even when it seems that there is no remedy for their ills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 5- For the elderly and those who feel lonely, Mary is also the helper, becoming a companion so that they do not isolate themselves from others and so that they do not feel defeated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 6- When they buried her Son, the Virgin, with her tears, is our helper, because they are not tears of anger and helplessness; she teaches us that our tears should be redeeming and that we should accept them, not with passive resignation, because the Lord allowed it, even if we do not see the "why". <\/p>\n\n\n\n 7- The Virgin Mary is a helper to all when we find ourselves in difficulties, when we don't know which path to follow, when we see no meaning in anything in this world, and when we are unable to find the source of true joy, which is the Lord. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mary, Help of Christians: pray for us. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n (P.
