17th Well
17th Well
The 17th well is now operational. The "Water in the Desert" project continues to provide water to impoverished communities where this precious resource is scarce. The new well was drilled in Dapoya, Burkina Faso.

The children's joy at seeing water gushing from the depths of the earth.
It all began with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Father Terenzio Pastore, an Italian Missionary of the Precious Blood. In 2022, he published the book "Questa è sempre casa tua" (This is always your house), the proceeds of which went towards building a well in the village of Kinangali, Tanzania. There, families had to travel long distances to find water, which was usually of poor quality.
Since 2022, 17 wells have been drilled, including in countries where the Missionaries do not have a presence. It is important not only to provide water to poor populations, but also to ensure its quality, since the consequences will be visible in terms of physical health, social dimension, agriculture, quality of life, among others.
The Iberian Province of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood has also been blessed with a well drilled in Guinea-Bissau, in one of the mission's villages.
Thank you, Father Terenzio, for this magnificent initiative!
