To be a mission

We are all on a mission! We are called to spread the value of the Blood of Christ.

The CPPS community of Vila Viçosa (Portugal) is involved in the evangelizing mission of the Diocese of Évora. When, in 1930, we were called by the bishop to establish a community in his Diocese, the urgency of the mission was felt: a parallel can be seen in the request that the Pope made to St. Gaspar del Bufalo to renew the faith of the people in the Papal States, in Italy.

Since mission work is one of the pillars of the life of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, for several years they have been called by the local Bishop to undertake missions during his pastoral visits to Christian communities. This year the community was on mission in Alcáçovas from April 26th to 30th. Fr. Luís Filipe accompanied the Christian community daily, with the Eucharist in the late afternoon, followed by preaching on various themes: being church, saying Yes like Mary, drinking the water of life, and recognizing the infinite love of God the Father. Other moments of the day were filled with visits to the sick, the sacrament of reconciliation, and accompanying the Prelate on his visits to the various social organizations in the village.

The image of Our Lady of the Conception accompanies the mission.

We are therefore always available for the evangelizing mission of the Church.
