Rosaries, school of evangelization

25th Missionary Day

Holiness and mission are essential aspects of the vocation of every baptized person. The commitment to becoming holier is closely linked to spreading the message of salvation… Contemplating the mysteries of the Rosary, the believer is encouraged to follow Christ and share his life until he can say with Saint Paul: “"It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."” (Gl 2, 20).

If all the mysteries of the Rosary constitute a significant school of holiness and evangelization, the mysteries of light They highlight unique aspects of our evangelical "following." The Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan reminds us that every baptized person is chosen to become, in Christ, "a child in the Son." At the wedding at Cana, Mary invites us to listen obediently to the Word of the Lord: “"Do whatever He tells you."” (Jo 2, 5). The proclamation of the Kingdom and the invitation to conversion are a clear command for all to undertake the path of holiness. In the Transfiguration of Jesus, the baptized person experiences the joy that awaits them. Meditating on the institution of the Eucharist, they repeatedly return to the Upper Room, where the divine Master left his disciples the most precious treasure: himself in the Sacrament of the altar.

A more missionary Church: the Face of Christ proclaimed.

At no time has the Church had as many opportunities to proclaim Jesus as it does today, thanks to the development of the means of communication. Precisely for this reason, the Church is called today to make the Face of her Spouse shine forth with a more radiant holiness. In this effort, which is not easy, she knows that she is helped by Mary. From her she “learns” to be a “virgin,” totally dedicated to her Spouse, Jesus Christ, and a “mother” of many children whom she brings forth for immortal life.

Under the watchful gaze of the Mother, the ecclesial Community grows as a family revived by the powerful outpouring of the Spirit and, ready to embrace the challenge of the new evangelization, contemplates the merciful face of Jesus in its brothers and sisters, especially the poor and needy, those who live far from faith and the Gospel. In particular, the Church is not afraid to proclaim to the world that Christ is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (Jo 14, 6); he is not afraid to joyfully proclaim that “the good news has its center, indeed its very content, in the person of Christ, the Word made flesh, the only savior of the world”

(St. John Paul II, message of the year 2003)
