United in Mission

“No baptized person is a stranger or indifferent to the mission: all participate in the great work that Christ entrusts to his Church,” says Pope Leo XIV in his message for the 100th World Mission Day.

The Missionaries of the Most Precious Blood, Iberian Province, live in a spirit of mission in their various communities: in Cáceres, in Orcasitas, in Proença a Nova, in Vila Viçosa, and in other places where priests are serving the Church, such as in the diocese of San Sebastián, in El Pino in the diocese of Cáceres, or in S. Nicolau in the diocese of Mindelo in Cape Verde. They are not preoccupied with "numbers" but are available to serve in the mission.

There are three inspiring missionaries: St. Gaspar del Bufalo, Blessed Giovanni Merlini, and St. Francis Xavier.

In Vila Viçosa, at the Church of St. Bartholomew, there is a chapel dedicated to St. Francis Xavier, a Spanish missionary who died at the gates of China. In this chapel, you can see some objects from countries where CPPS has a presence, notably Guinea-Bissau. You can also contribute to missionary projects here through your donation.

The mission in Guinea-Bissau (training center, scholarships, scouts, health or water projects…) is well known to the people who have generously supported it over the years. It is common for people to ask, “How are the children at the mission doing?”.

This October, be generous with the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. Your support makes a difference!
