All Saints

This is how God wants us: holy. “As he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ”Be holy, because I am holy’” (1 Peter 1:15-16).

The Youcat catechism (342) asks: should we all be saints? And it answers: yes. The meaning of our lives lies in uniting ourselves to God in love, in responding to God's dreams. "We must allow God to live His life in us," said Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Anyone asks: who am I, why am I here, how do I find fulfillment? Faith answers: only in holiness does the human being reach true harmony with himself and with the Creator. Holiness, however, is not a "homemade" perfection; it is achieved through union with incarnate Love, which is Christ. Whoever, in this way, attains a new life, becomes and discovers himself to be holy.

Therefore, throughout the ages, the Church has encountered men and women who embodied Jesus in their lives, some even giving their lives for Him in martyrdom. These are models showing that it is possible to be holy today.

St. Gaspar del Bufalo understood holiness in this way: “Oh God, when will we be definitively yours? This is not a task for a single day, but for a lifetime.” He sought his own holiness through the spirituality of the Most Precious Blood, but gave his life for the sanctification of all people. It is a counsel that abounds in his letters: “Let us be holy.”.

The Kingdom of God will only come about in the world through holy people!
