Pray for the seminaries.

In Portugal, the week of prayer for seminaries is celebrated from November 1st to 8th. This year's chosen theme is: “A community that prays, a seminary that flourishes.”.

The Missionaries of the Precious Blood have their Major Seminary in Guinea-Bissau, with 5 young seminarians. In Africa, the CPPS Missionaries are present in Guinea-Bissau and Tanzania. In these two countries, young men are responding to the vocational call and discerning their calling with the help of formators, missionary priests.

However, the Iberian Province has already experienced times of vocational abundance, in which minor seminaries operated simultaneously in Fuente de Cantos (Spain), Vila Viçosa and Proença a Nova (Portugal), and major seminaries in Cáceres and Madrid (Spain), and Verride (Portugal). Currently, the CPPS Missionaries keep their houses open and available for those who feel a vocational calling and wish to discern their calling based on the spirituality of the Most Precious Blood, or who wish to dedicate their lives to a mission.

In the pastoral letter from the Portuguese Episcopal Commission for Vocations and Ministries, the following challenge emerges:

“"Valuing the image of the good sower, prayer is the seed that many sow persistently, even without knowing the soil, in which they only trust and recognize potential. Pray, pray, sow, sow!"”

Let us pray for all seminaries, especially for the Missionaries of the Precious Blood.
