Simple acts of charity

The Parish of St. Matthew (Cáceres) is present in Guinea-Bissau.

There are numerous acts of charity reaching that African country, benefiting the communities served by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. The various confraternities of the parish of St. Matthew, working together, obtained a donation of 5000 t-shirts, which they sent to the AA de Vasconcelos High School in Safim (Guinea-Bissau).

This high school is located on parish grounds and is run by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. It has around 600 students, many of whom come from poor families. Here they can study up to the 12th grade and prepare well for university entrance. It is staffed by a group of committed and dedicated teachers.

The biggest problem is overcrowding and the lack of space and equipment. That's why the school has to operate in two shifts: morning and afternoon.

Recently, an investment was made in computerizing the school, which provides better management of students' academic progress, as well as the organization and functioning of the other structures.
