Taken and drunk, this is my blood

Every time we participate in the Eucharist, we hear “Tomad and drunk, this is my blood”; But for the routine and the worries, these words we hear, but we do not internalize them.

Jesus, you are celebrating the Easter scene with your holy jueves, and they summarize all your teachings as a testament to your mission. During Jesus' time during the Easter celebration, three glasses of wine were shared: the 1st glass, at the beginning of the scene and accompanied by a prayer of gratitude for the Alliance; The 2nd World Cup was shared once the Easter story was heard, and the pan was blessed and shared; the 3rd cup: it was a cup of blessing.

Jesus, in this scene of the holy jueves, transforms the pan into his body and the cup into the seal of the new alliance that will be poured out for all of us.

The Jewish Passover, expresses rescue and alliance, because on the ground it remembers the departure of Egypt from the Pueblo de Dios, the Alliance is also celebrated, in the Sinaí de Dios with the Pueblo.

El jueves santo, Jesús is saying in the Easter scene, that his death on the cross, rescues us from evil so that we can establish an alliance with God, in which God commits to be close to us, especially when we pass badly and we commit ourselves to eliminate from our life all the “dioses” that are not sean by the Señor. By drinking the blood of Christ, you have the same strength-life of God, and you share your life with God and with others who share your spilled blood.

At the beginning of the disciples, the bloodshed of Jesus came, like a disappointment and a scandal; They were testimonies that Jesus spent his life “doing well” and now he is condemned to death on the cross, because he decided that he had revolutionized people, and they ran the same risk that the Maestro, for that reason, ended up at home.

Later they understood that Jesus died as the servant of Yahweh, carrying on his shoulders the weaknesses, weaknesses and sins of all, in the number of or many that he was, as “the spiritual child” to restore communication with God. The cup that Jesus shared with his saintly jueves, took away his destiny and especially his sufferings.

Commitments to participate in the Holy Jueves in the Easter scene

  1. We have to be followers of Jesus, to be witnesses of the coming of his kingdom, to accept the sufferings that we find in life and to unite ourselves with others, who also share the cup of the Alliance.
  2. We have to commit to living the new alliance and everything that brings: peace, justice, fraternity, joy… to make the Kingdom of God present on earth.
  3. We have to eliminate from our life the “dioses” that separate us from God and others: selfishness, violence, arrogance, insolidarity, indifference…
  4. We have to involve ourselves more in the Community and in the Family of the Precious Blood, so that we are “one” in diversity.
  5. When we face difficulties and problems, we do not become discouraged, but we must draw strength from the Blood of Christ to face the life of each day.
  6. Not to be, like the apostles out of fear, to involve us in the lives of others, when it touches happiness and joy, and also when it touches difficulties, ya times, it has to play with us “el type” so that there is justice and they are not condemned unjustly.
  7. We cannot participate in the Eucharist, either by routine or by private devotion, but after participating we should ask ourselves:

Are we more supportive of others? We are willing to run risks and suffering for them. Does it make our lives more complicated? Are we willing to accompany anyone who is sad, who lives alone, or who suffers?

Is the Eucharist the great Fiesta of the Community, or are we simple curious people who pass by there, or attend because of the “commitment” of a mandate, but we have nothing to do with our life, even though we remain calm because we have “accomplished”?

In the holy jueves, Jesus said to them “haced this in my memory” What? assume the destiny of Jesus and be chalices poured out for others.
