21st Well = Water in the desert

This is the 21st well in a project led by the Missionary of the Precious Blood of the Italian Province, Fr. Terenzio Pastore. It aims to bring water to very poor populations in Africa, in regions plagued by drought.

Here is the information that was released:

“Yesterday afternoon, June 7th, Sunday, the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, at the end of the Eucharistic procession, I picked up my mobile phone and came across images sent by Sister Marguerita from Burkina Faso (in a short video you can see the children enjoying the water that came from the bowels of the earth). My first thought was: what if we could experience in the Eucharist the same joy that these children experienced with the water? Then I received information that: Loulouka is 100 km from the capital Ouagadougou. It is a very poor village, where many families have arrived from the north of the country, leaving everything behind and fleeing Islamic extremism, which sows destruction and death. The children who rejoice with the water are all refugees, who cannot even access school, and who have already gone through so many difficult situations. Yesterday was a very beautiful day in their lives. May the well of water be a sign of hope and a better future.”
