Bissaquel mission house with improved energy

The Missionaries of the Precious Blood are on mission in Guinea-Bissau. To be on mission is to live among the people, helping them to discover and understand the loving presence of God, who in his Son is present and gives himself totally for the redemption of humanity.

Upon arriving in a different country, the aim is to create structures that will serve the mission: this is how the Bissaquel training center was born, located in a village on the outskirts of Bissau. Being a training center, it was necessary to equip it with basic things, such as electricity. The supply of electricity in that country is basic, dependent on generators, and is not accessible to the vast majority of the population. Since the founding of this center, we have sought to have a photovoltaic energy system, supported by emergency generators. As time has passed, there have been several renovations to this energy source with the aim not only of improving the conditions of the residents, but also of supporting the population: we serve the community by charging mobile phones, providing internet access, and many young people have the appropriate space here to use a computer and study at night.

We are currently undertaking another renovation and improvement of the energy source with the installation of new solar panels, lithium batteries, regulating inverters, and cable replacement. The work is being carried out by Italian volunteers. For the completion of the project, we have had the support of an institution from Tenerife (Spain). The project cost is €20,000.00.

It is worth highlighting that it is thanks to this energy system that the Health Post, the clinical analysis laboratory, and the entire healthcare structure maintained by the CPPS Missionaries on the mission grounds also function.

The Missionaries of the Precious Blood express their gratitude for the generosity that has enabled them to develop initiatives for the benefit of the people of Guinea-Bissau.
