Practicing Scout brotherhood
Practicing Scout brotherhood
In the parish of Santo António de Safim, in Guinea-Bissau, there is a Scout Group. Its mission, following the Baden-Powell method, is to educate children, adolescents, and young people to be committed to "leaving the world a little better than they found it," playing an active role in society as good citizens. As BP says in his last message, "the best way to be happy is to contribute to the happiness of others.".

The Santo António Group received a request for assistance in acquiring uniforms, all of which would be imported from Portugal. The matter was addressed by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and shared within the communities. The population of Guinea-Bissau is largely composed of children, adolescents, and young people, and supporting these people is fundamental to ensuring a better future for them.
Here is the list of requested uniforms: 105 belts; 110 berets, 100 socks and 50 wolf head badges. The total cost is €2733.50. All uniforms have already been purchased and are expected to be shipped at any moment.
The Missionaries of the Precious Blood express their gratitude to: the National Scout Corps, Copa Mater, the Confraternity of the Holy Trinity, many private individuals, and Group 639 of Vila Viçosa. The Cub Scouts held a fundraiser by selling cakes and donated the proceeds, on behalf of the group, to this cause.
Today, during the Eucharist of the Fourth Sunday of Advent, the CPPS community of St. Bartholomew, Vila Viçosa, expressed gratitude for so much generosity. (Fr. Luís Filipe)
