Senior Superiors in meeting

The Senior Superiors of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood are meeting for several days this September at St. Charles Center, Ohio (USA). Leaders from the 11 Provinces are present, along with some special guests.

For approximately two weeks, the members of the General Council meet with all the provincials from the various CPPS provinces to discuss fundamental issues for the future of the Congregation. This body is only advisory, and can only make decisions in areas that are duly regulated by the General Statutes.

This represents a very important moment as it is a sign of unity and communion, while at the same time discerning the mission of CPPS within the Church and in the world.

Overall, the Major Superiors are reflecting on the Fundamental Values that emerged from the XXII General Assembly, which took place in Rome from September 1 to 19, 2025. These are the values: the Gospel and the spirituality of the Blood of Christ challenge us, individually and as a congregation, to bear witness to a life of conversion, transformation, and renewal; united by the bond of charity, community life and communion strengthen the witness and value of our apostolic mission; the spirituality of the Blood of Christ propels the mission to the peripheries of the Church and the world; St. Gaspar's desire to have "a thousand tongues" to proclaim the transforming power of the Blood of Christ is lived through communion with the laity and with those who are part of the family of the Most Precious Blood of Christ; we are committed to the growth of the Congregation so that the charism inherited from St. Gaspar and Blessed Giovanni Merlini continues to develop; spirituality, community life, and mission are animated by leaders assisted by the Holy Spirit.

Let us pray that the Lord Jesus may strengthen and enlighten all participants in the meeting of Major Superiors, and that it may produce good fruits that will help the CPPS to proclaim the redeeming power of the Blood of Christ, just as St. Gaspar del Bufalo and all those who followed him did.
