WATER IS LIFE: A New Well Brings Hope to the Community of Bidjadje, Guinea-Bissau

You Missionaries of the Most Precious Blood recently completed an important solidarity project: Aqua nel Deserto, in the tabanca of Bidjadje, Bissaquel, in Guinea-Bissau.

The initiative's main objective was to explore and distribute drinking water to the local community—an essential commodity that, unfortunately, remains scarce for many.

The reality faced by several communities in the region is marked by difficulty in accessing quality water.

Most depend on artisanal wells, which often provide water unfit for consumption, becoming a source of various diseases.

The installation of this new well thus represents a concrete transformation in the lives of the families of Bidjadje: more health, dignity and hope.

This is the 12th well built within the water well network promoted by Italian Province of Missionaries, a mission that began in Tanzania and continues to expand to other African territories with urgent needs.

Now, a new stage begins: working together with the community to ensure the proper maintenance and responsible use of this vital structure.

Local participation is essential for this resource to continue to benefit future generations.
